Electryon inherited the throne of Mycenae from his father Perseus, the legendary founder of the city. His reign established the Perseid dynasty's control over the Argolid region.
Electryon led a military campaign against the Taphian pirates who had raided Mycenaean territory. The war resulted in the death of Electryon's sons, leaving his daughter Alcmene as his sole heir.
Electryon was accidentally killed by his nephew Amphitryon during a dispute over the return of stolen cattle. This event triggered Amphitryon's exile and the eventual rise of Heracles.
Yazdegerd III's Sassanid army was decisively defeated by the Arab Muslim forces at al-Qadisiyyah. This loss opened the way for the Arab conquest of the Sassanid heartland and marked the beginning of the end for the empire.
As Arab forces advanced, Yazdegerd III fled eastward to Merv in Central Asia. He sought refuge with local governors but was ultimately betrayed and killed by a miller for his jewels.
Each figure is scored on 6 dimensions (0—100 scale) based on structured historical data: Military (10%), Political (20%), Influence (20%), Legacy (20%), Leadership (15%), Strategy (15%). The weighted total produces the final ranking.
Scores are computed from structured sub-indicators in the database. Scale factors adjust for era (Ancient ×0.85, Modern ×1.0) and civilization size (Eastern ×1.05, Other ×0.80) to account for differences in population and military scale.
Comparisons are limited to 2—3 figures to ensure readability and statistical meaningfulness.
±5 points per dimension — Sub-scores are derived from historical records with inherent uncertainty. Two figures within 5 points on a dimension should be considered roughly equivalent in that area.
±3 points overall — The weighted combination of 6 dimensions produces a total score with approximately ±3 points of uncertainty. Differences of less than 3 points are not statistically significant— the figures are effectively tied.
