Our scoring dimensions (Military, Political, Influence, etc.) measure objective capability and historical consequence — they are not moral judgments. A high Military score indicates strategic and tactical effectiveness, not that the wars fought were justified. A high Political score reflects governance ability, not that the regime was benevolent.

We explicitly reject: racism, genocide, war crimes, colonialism, slavery, religious persecution, and all forms of oppression — regardless of any figure's scores on this site.

HistoryVersus includes figures from all civilizations, religions, political systems, and ideologies. Inclusion of religious figures (Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.) is based on historical impact, not theological truth claims. Inclusion of political figures from various systems (democracy, communism, monarchy, etc.) is based on notability, not political endorsement.

The site maintains strict neutrality regarding: religious truth claims, political ideologies, national territorial disputes, and ethnic/nationalist narratives. Where historical facts are disputed by legitimate scholarship, we note the controversy rather than taking sides.

Scores are algorithmic estimates, not absolute truth. Our six-dimension scoring system uses structured data with known limitations:

• Sub-scores are derived from available historical records, which are incomplete and uneven across civilizations and eras.
• Scale factors (era, civilization) provide reasonable adjustments but cannot fully account for the complexity of historical context.
• Figures from non-literate or oral-tradition societies may be underrepresented in our data.
• The scoring system was designed for comparative entertainment, not as a peer-reviewed historical research tool.

Historical data is aggregated from publicly available sources including Wikipedia, Wikidata, and academic databases. All content is used under fair use / fair dealing principles for educational purposes.
